Neighborhood:
I have loved what our neighbors have been doing to make walking in the neighborhood more enjoyable! We have been seeing hearts, rainbows, Teddy bears, and so many other great murals in neighbors’ windows! We saw some sidewalk chalk art and are even enjoying the Christmas lights that have gone up (or not even come down :)) to bring more joy to the neighborhood! Thank you, everyone, and keep it up!
We are so appreciative of the Mail Carriers and Delivery People who bring us our packages so that we don’t have to go out, but can still get the things we need (shampoo, toilet paper, and, yes, even birthday presents for both kids’ birthdays). We have begun making hearts and taping them to our doors just to say thank you to these important people who continue to venture out every day. Please let these people know how grateful our neighborhood is of their continued work by making “thank you” hearts and placing them by your front door. Let them know that we see them and we know what they are doing is important.
In case you weren’t aware, a few roads in Duluth have been closed down to be used by pedestrians only in an effort to reduce unsafe crowding on popular trails and disperse trail use throughout the city. These roads include
If your kids are in need of lunch, you can get a school lunch from the Duluth Public Schools or if your students goes to Raleigh, they also provide lunch at a couple drop off sites. Please email me if you need more information about how to access this food option for your kids.
There are some amazing opportunities available to use right now through online. One that I know of is Virtual Duluth on Facebook - They take us on virtual tours of places around Duluth and provide concerts from many of the musicians who call Duluth home.
I have also found many other fun things to do - you can find them on our website (link below).
If you have some great resources to lift our spirits or entertain us while we are stuck Staying Home, please send them to [email protected] and I will upload them to our website.
Thanks and stay safe!
