Please report if you have any information regarding this. Citizen concerns of increased drug activity near GFC and throughout the neighborhood. More patrolling requested. Garden Club: Amy Johnson 20 current members, new members always welcome Club has been busy cleaning, weeding, planting and watering the beautiful flower gardens at both entrances and Beverly street. Thank you Garden Club! * looking for volunteers for watering gardens. Weekly and bi-weekly at times. Trailer and water provided. Takes about 4 hours. If interested reach out to Amy Johnson Parks and Rec: Nick Budnik Due to Covid restrictions many activities have been canceled or altered. The GFC building is remaining closed until August 1st. Summer camps have been moved to Bayfront Park. The Community Club requested a Pop-up Play to be held at the GFC and that has been confirmed for July 18th from 1:30-3:30pm, more information posted separately. There is also an Archery camp being held at the GFC beginning of August with 4 spots remaining. Information available on the Duluth Parks/Rec website. Work order requested to repave back driveway of GFC. Maybe just do a dumpster ■ From the city, we can supply garbage bags, rubber gloves ■ Slogan or something to put out for the neighbors- encourage others to keep our community clean. ○ Beautify MP for summer ■ One thing to do each month. ■ Fliers went out for each month ■ Catchy name: Clean Sweep? ■ Make it inspirational and empowering ● Community Garden update ○ Plant giveaway was success!! ○ We got a few people interested in renting a plot and helping get it going. ○ However, we need more interest and support. We are still working on this. ○ Buckets- get seed potatoes and plant in the buckets - show people how to do that - use that for another year ○ Continue as an annual thing - kick off to gardening season ○ Maybe add this to the Flower Fest ○ Hanging basket giveaway ● Would still like to put out a newsletter. ○ Ideas - let me know if you have any ideas as to what should go in there ○ Wait until Fall ● Softball - not happening this year ● Soccer- still going on ● TBall - Not happening this year ● Lunch for kids 5-18 (see below) ● Spirit Valley Youth Center - ○ Information available at www.valleyyouthcenters.org 7:10 PM Open Floor ● Signs on corner - look into the laws and see if we can get a kiosk sign- see if Nick knows the answers to this; Janet Kennedy? ● JJs - was concerned about having a sign on the corner but not being allowed to. ○ Similar to Lincoln Park sign with ALL the businesses? ○ There is a Lincoln Park Business association- maybe talk with the other businesses. ○ Figure out as a community how to maybe have a sign where all the businesses in MP are on the sign. ○ Maybe there is another location for signage? - on the GFCC land? ● Should we wait until later to talk about national night out at a later date?
